-> back to calendar :: SHORT PROGRAMS - FIELDS OF VISION -> Learning how to see -> From photo to video Learning how to see “Learning How to See” a four-week program taught in partnership with Rhode Island School of Design aims at developing each participant’s creative potential and visual awareness.
-> From photo to video From photo to video, in only 25 steps… per second! Today’s photographers often turn from one medium to the other, depending on the circumstances and their personal interests: reportage, documentary, advertising, and fiction. Designed to reach public audiences, both domains of visual expression depend on personal, well-structured and responsible approaches. As today’s video cameras and equipment are compact and easy to handle, participants tend to progress fairly quickly in acquiring all the skills necessary to turn their own videos. In the first half of the program, participants learn to use a video camera, how to write a screenplay, and to prepare a shooting. The second half of the program is dedicated to the actual turning and the final editing of their videos, under the continual guidance of a producer, an assistant and an editor.
